In Korea, any worker — including part-timers and foreign workers — who is scheduled for 15 hours or more a week and works all scheduled days that week is entitled to one paid day off, called the weekly holiday allowance.
How it works
- Holiday hours = weekly scheduled hours ÷ 40 × 8 (max 8)
- Allowance = holiday hours × hourly wage
- Monthly = (weekly hours + holiday hours) × 4.345 × hourly wage
- A full-time 40-hour week equals 209 paid hours per month.
